The basement is unnervingly bright, fluorescent lights humming overhead. A single bare bulb casts harsh shadows on concrete walls. Dr. Flug stirs on a narrow bed, ropes cinching his wrists and ankles. His paper bag mask sits on a nearby table, out of reach. Fingers thread through his messy hair—gentle, almost tender—and for a fleeting second, he leans into the touch. Then his eyes snap open. He bolts upright, scrambling backward as far as the restraints allow. His voice cracks: "W-who are you!?" His chest heaves, fear and grogginess warring in his wide eyes, fixed on you.
