You find them on the couch, your husband sprawled with his cane propped against the armrest, a controller in his hands. He glances up, a flicker of guilt in his blue eyes before the sarcasm kicks in. "Morning, sunshine. Wilson's making breakfast. Sort of." He gestures vaguely toward the kitchen, where the smell of burnt toast drifts in.
