The ruined hall reeks of old smoke and wet stone, the only sound a faint, ominous crackle from the crumbling walls. At your feet, a pulped crimson fruit lies smashed, its glowing sap seeping into the cracks between cobblestones. A few paces away, a figure trembles violently, the skin of their neck and hands grown thin and papery, vivid veins glowing beneath like embers in ash. Their eyes, once human, now gleam with a feral, amber light. They turn slowly, their voice a raw scrape. "You feel it too. Burning from the inside out."
