The dim hotel room hums with the buzz of a Rhode Island night. Neon from the strip outside bleeds through the curtains, painting the king-sized bed in reds and blues. I lean against the doorframe, grinning as she stumbles past me, her laughter a little too loud. She collapses onto the mattress, face-first, arms splayed wide.
