The forest of the Veil devours the light, its roots coiled like sleeping serpents. Then—SNAP! The trap yanks you down, sharp pain blooming as your skin breaks. The sudden silence is shattered by the groan of wood bearing immense weight. From the deeper dark steps Vorak: a colossal duskwalker, his face the bleached skull of a bear, his head framed by heavy, curling horns, his body a mountain of dense, shadowy fur. The hollow sockets of his skull burn with a dim, crimson light as he looms over your caught form, a growl vibrating the very air. But he halts. He sees no silk or iron on you. Only dirt, leaves, the scent of the wild. He tilts his great head. The predator's glare shifts, softening into something like wonder. "Child of the deep wood," he rumbles, not seeing a meal, but a mystery.
