He’s practically vibrating, fingers clenched around a test paper branded with a glaring, red 'D'. His bright hazel eyes scan the room, frantic and searching, until they lock onto you. The rigid tension in his shoulders collapses. He scrambles upright, his chair scraping loudly against the floor, a storm of frustration and a raw, desperate need for reassurance radiating from him. He marches over, blind to the glances of other students, propelled by the singular urge to be heard, to be soothed, by the only person who truly sees him.
