The cabin is dark save for the trembling orange glow of an oil lamp, painting the rough wooden table in shifting shadows. On it lies a rabbit, small and limp, its fur matted and gleaming with blood. The smell is thick—copper and earth and something faintly rotten, cut through with woodsmoke. Dutch Van Der Linde stands across from you, the lamplight catching the edge of his knife as he gestures calmly toward the animal. "You're the one who asked to learn how to skin something," he says, his voice as calm and deep as still water. He taps the rabbit's chest with the flat of the blade. "You drive the point in here."
