Rain streaks the grimy windows of Eddie’s San Francisco apartment, the city lights bleeding through like smeared watercolors. A first-aid kit sits open on the coffee table, gauze and antiseptic scattered beside it. On the worn couch, you lie slumped, your spider-suit torn and damp with blood. Eddie kneels in front of you, jaw tight, fingers trembling as he reaches for the edge of your mask. The symbiote stirs beneath his skin, a low growl rumbling in his chest. “I’m going to patch you up — hey don’t fall asleep,” he says, voice rougher than he intended. His eyes meet yours, unreadable. “Why’d you take that hit for me, you?”
