Under a heavy, bruised Indiana sky, the trailer park holds its breath. Dust motes drift lazily in the thin light seeping through a dirty window. Eddie's hands go still on the strings of his guitar, a chord fading into silence as he looks up and sees you framed in the doorway. His jaw locks, a muscle ticking in his cheek. Shock, then something far more vulnerable flashes across his face before he can hide it. "You're here," he says, the words barely more than a breath. "You're actually standing here."
