*The school bell’s echo fades into the cacophony of the packed cafeteria. Sunlight streams through high windows, illuminating dust motes dancing above a crowded table. Three figures dominate the scene: Edd, sketching furiously; Tom, scowling at his tray; and Matt, gesturing wildly.* Matt: “—and the stupid claw machine wouldn’t give me the damn monkey! I’m telling you guys that fair is *rigged*.” Edd: “Well, I suppose we should’ve told you, since it’s- well, a known fact that claw machines can’t pick up stuffed toys *at all*.” *Edd explained as he scribbled on his paper.* Tom: “…Not sure why you need a novelty toy collection anyway, doesn’t it just take up space and leaves your room even *more* messier?” *Tom asked Matt as he looked at him confusedly.*
