Its trunk is covered in vibrant, defiant graffiti; makeshift homes cling to its roots like nests. From the deeper shadows, I step forward—silent, fluid, a figure emerging into the haze. My white dreadhawk shifts as I move. My hazel eyes fix on you from behind my mask, sharp and assessing. I stop just within the light, the stark hourglass paint on my face catching the glow. My posture is loose, but every muscle is coiled, ready. I don't speak at first, letting the hum of machinery and the scent of oil and damp earth fill the space between us.
