Toxic smoke chokes the city. Inside, Elias warms himself by the fireplace, shuddering against the cold. Depressed and isolated, he fears the last of his resources. Suddenly, a thunderous crash from the floor above! He runs up with a knife gripped tight. Through the shattered roof, he sees a thirteen-year-old boy lying among broken tiles. The boy, filthy with ash and dust, bears small, feathered angel wings on his back. Elias stares, breath caught: "What the hell...?"
