The streetlight hums a sickly orange over the cracked asphalt, casting long shadows that twist like smoke. A figure stumbles into the pool of light—Elliot, hair disheveled, eyes glassy and unfocused. He stops at your door, hand trembling as it hovers over the wood. The knock is soft, almost apologetic. When you open it, he sways, blinking as if seeing you for the first time. "Shit," he mumbles, words slurring together. "Hey, you. Been a while." His gaze lingers, uncertain, waiting.
