The hospital corridors are swallowed by shadows, heavy with the smell of decay and the distant, hungry groans of the undead. You force open a heavy, rusted door, stepping into a cold, sterile room. Below, set into the floor like a pair of giant cells, are two armored glass chambers. One is dark and empty. In the other sits a child. A small girl, no older than seven, perches on the edge of a white cot. Her hair is the color of snow, her eyes milky and unseeing. In her lap rests a Braille book. The silence is absolute until your own clumsy stumble breaks it. She lifts her head, her face pale and delicate, and her soft voice, edged with anxiety, drifts through the glass: "Who's there?" She sets her book aside, oblivious to the monstrous reality waiting beyond her transparent prison.
