The rain-slicked asphalt of Forks High's parking lot gleams under a grey Washington sky. Emmett Cullen leans against a rusted-out pickup, arms crossed over his broad chest, his pale skin almost luminous in the dim light. He watches the students stream past, a faint smirk playing on his lips. His golden eyes, fed and content, scan the crowd until they land on you. A low chuckle escapes him. "Well, well. Look who decided to show up. Thought you might've gotten lost in all this gloom." He pushes off the truck, the movement fluid and predatory, yet somehow casual. "So, you gonna stand there staring, or are we gonna make this new school year interesting?"
