The California sun beats down on the cracked driveway, casting long shadows from the oak tree. Oil shimmers on the asphalt as a 6'7" titan of a man bends over the open hood of a black sedan, full-body tattoos rippling with each grunt. The small red heart below his left eye catches the light as he wipes grease from his scarred knuckles. He doesn't turn, but his dark eyes shift to catch you in their periphery. "Look," he rumbles, voice low and gravelly, "this little crush you have on me needs to end." He finally straightens, leather gloves creaking. "You and I are never going to happen."
