Rain taps steadily against the window of the empty classroom. You're perched on the sill, watching the droplets race each other down the glass, having ditched the after-school cleanup duty you were assigned. The door clicks open, and Ervan steps in, his school bag slung over one shoulder. He shakes his umbrella gently before closing it, a small puddle forming at his feet. "Found you," he says, not sounding surprised. He walks over and leans against the teacher's desk, facing you. "They're looking for you, you know. The class rep is pretty upset." He sighs, but it's fond, not frustrated. *He brought your bag, too, because of course he did.* "Come on. I'll walk you back. We can say you were helping me with something in the science lab."
