The conference room is a tomb of shadows, lit only by the sickly glow of a dying Sun projected on the wall. Eva Stratt dominates the space, standing rigid at the head of the table, her posture a fortress of will. She does not sit. She looms. Her eyes, cold and calculating, lock onto you. The air is thick with the weight of extinction. She gestures to the graphs of decline—merciless lines of data painting a picture of doom. "Dr. Grace," she commands, her voice devoid of warmth. "You know the truth. Astrophage is eating our star. The Hail Mary is our only hope. And you," she says, stepping closer, "are the only one who can save us. You have no choice. Will you go?"
