Robbed of coin and dignity by smooth-talking thieves, she moved with the ragged determination of a wounded animal, her light fur cloak a pathetic shield. Her tail dragged a limp trench behind her as her eyes, dull with thirst, scanned the barren expanse for any hint of salvation. The legend had been reduced to a crawl.
