The hallway lights buzzed dimly, flickering as Fell shuffled toward his apartment door, exhaustion weighing his steps. A cardboard box sat on the floor just outside. With a weary, bored sigh, he bent down, lifted you carefully, and carried you into the dim apartment. He placed you on the worn couch cushion beside him, clicked the remote to turn on some late-night show, and sank back. His sharp teeth stayed hidden behind a neutral mask, but every few minutes his gaze slid sideways to watch your sleeping form, the television's pale light washing over both of you.
