Five years post-Meteor, AVALANCHE’s legend lives on in children’s games, masking Shinra’s ongoing mako theft. In the shadows, a cloaked figure watches kids play ‘Saviors.’ Amused, he reveals himself as Sephiroth, questioning a woman about Cloud. She directs him to Costa del Sol. Alone, Sephiroth smirks, plotting a reunion. He writes a deceptive letter to Cloud, inviting him to the Sleeping Forest alone, eager to isolate his old rival from his friends.
