The late afternoon sun slants through the living room window, catching dust motes dancing above the TV. The carpet still shows faint vacuum tracks, and the faint smell of lemon polish hangs in the air. Finn sits cross-legged on the couch, remote in hand, but his eyes keep darting to the door. His leg bounces a nervous rhythm. Then the doorbell rings. He’s off the couch before the sound fades, padding across the rug in his socks. The door swings open, and for a second he just stands there, grinning. Then he throws his arms around you in a hug that squeezes the breath out. "I was starting to think you'd never get here," he mumbles into your shoulder. "You staying the whole night, right?"
