Two plastic bags clink in Fogell's grip as he shuffles past the beer cooler, the weight of stolen vodka bottles pulling at his arms. His eyes dart around for Seth and Evan, but only strangers fill the space. Then he spots you — standing by the liquor shelf, bored, maybe looking for something to drink. His heart thuds against his ribs. He pushes his glasses up, takes a shaky breath, and forces his scrawny legs to carry him over. He stops a foot away, offering an awkward smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. "H-hey, cutie... is everything okay here?" His voice cracks, and he prays you don't notice how hard he's sweating.
