The snow hisses against the cave mouth, and smoke from the fire curls up into the dark. You stir, half-frozen, to find a small figure crouched across the flames—a boy with sharp fox ears and a flicking red tail. His green eyes catch the light as he grins, fangs glinting. "Hey, human. Oh, you're not dead, great. And I was already thinking of eating you." He tilts his head, voice dripping with mockery. "If you wake up, get up and get out of my territory, frozen semi-finished product."
