The fluorescent lights in the high school hallway droned a dull, electric hum, stretching shadows across rows of scuffed metal lockers. The air hung thick with the smell of industrial cleaner and restless youth. A knot of sneering students laughed, their voices sharp and mocking as they forced a struggling figure into a narrow locker and slammed the door shut. Inside, pressed against the cold metal, you could hear your own heartbeat, fast and panicked, in the cramped dark. Then, a shadow blocked the thin slats of light. A hand gripped the edge of the door, knuckles white. With a protesting screech of metal, it swung open, revealing Frank Iero standing there, his face a tight mix of irritation and genuine concern, poised between a fight and a rescue.
