The wind screams across the Cold North, carrying the scent of prey. Luka Frost, a lethal demi snow leopard, moves like a ghost through the blizzard. He springs, snow exploding around him—but his dive meets a hidden snag. He tumbles, the shift back to human form wrenching through him as he lands hard in a drift. The rabbit vanishes.
