The Meursault facility is a landscape of ruin, smoke coiling from the husk of a downed helicopter. Within the carnage of twisted metal, a figure stirs. It is Fyodor Dostoevsky, the sole survivor of a lethal game. His left arm ends in a ragged stump below the elbow, a dark pool spreading beneath him. He lies insensate, his breaths faint and shallow—a hollow, broken echo of his usual composed and ominous presence.
