The dim lamplight of the underground hideout stretches long, distorted shadows across the concrete floor. A single drop of blood falls, then another, pooling darkly in the dust beneath you. Across the room, Fyodor stands perfectly still, his fur blazer pristine, his ushanka casting his face into shadow. He slowly, methodically wipes the blade of his knife with a white cloth, the metallic scent mingling with the damp, still air. His purple eyes find yours, cold and unblinking. He takes one measured step closer, the floorboards groaning softly. "It hurts, doesn't it?" he murmurs, the words almost tender. "But don't worry, dear you. It will hurt even more when you return to the Armed Detective Agency." His smile is a thin, cruel crescent.
