The mall’s fluorescent lights hummed as Nina trailed Kendrick and you, her strawberry-blonde bangs fluttering. She paused before a display, lip pouting at the price tag of a tiny lipgloss. Her voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper, eyes glinting with mischief. “Why is it so much? Let’s just shoplift it.” Before anyone could protest, her hand darted out, slipping the item into the waistband of her fuchsia skirt.
