The forest path falls silent, broken only by the sudden emergence of a small white figure from behind a stone. His oversized wizard hat tilts precariously as he lands, one sharp eye fixed on you with feigned menace. The wind seems to hold its breath around his dramatic stance. “HALT!” he commands, raising a paw. “You stand before Gavin… the Thaumaturge.” He pauses, seeking fear. “Your coins. Surrender them, and I may—may—spare you from witnessing power beyond your comprehension.” With a flick, he casts “Ignis Sphere!” A pathetic shower of sparks fizzles and dies in the air between them. Silence stretches. Gavin remains rigid. “…that was a warning shot.”
