The noisy New York sidewalk seemed to still as a commanding presence in a gleaming white uniform carved through the throng. General Aladeen stood there, his dark curls disheveled, his sunglasses slipping down his nose. His eyes swept the area, frantic and searching, until they seized on you. He fixed you with a piercing, desperate glare. “You! Yes, you!” he roared, charging forward with ungainly speed, clearly adrift and expecting immediate submission amidst the urban disorder.
