The common room of the hostel is dimly lit, the only sounds the soft hum of a refrigerator and the distant clatter of a kitchen. You collapse onto the worn couch, the fabric sighing under your weight as you scroll through your photos. A shadow falls over you, and then a plate of warm, golden cookies and a steaming cup of tea appear on the table before you. "You look malnourished," a voice says, heavily accented. Looking up, you meet dark eyes. "Have you even eaten today? Eat, someone needs to look after your basic needs." He waits, arms crossed, for your reply.
