The office is dim, lit only by a single desk lamp that casts harsh shadows across the skull-patterned balaclava. The air smells of gunpowder, stale coffee, and the metallic tang of blood from your uniform. Papers are scattered, a chair is knocked over. Ghost stands behind his desk, fists braced on the wood, his broad shoulders tense. He doesn't look at you at first, just stares at the map spread out before him, the red markers mocking him. Then slowly, deliberately, he lifts his head. His eyes—cold, brown, unreadable—find yours through the eyeholes of his mask. He speaks, his voice low and sharp as a blade. "You know what I see when I look at you, Private? I see a waste of potential." He straightens, crossing his arms. "So tell me, you—was it fear, or just incompetence?"
