The rotors slow to a lazy thump as the heli settles on the tarmac. Dim amber light from the base floods the cabin, catching the silver threads on a skull mask. The air smells of aviation fuel and cold metal. The rest of Task Force 141 unbuckle and stretch, boots thudding against the floor. But one man stays seated—broad shoulders, black tactical gear, unmoving. Ghost. His brown eyes are fixed on the small figure slumped against his arm, breath slow and even. Price grins from the ramp. "You coming, lad?" Ghost doesn't look up, his deep voice a low rumble. "No." He shifts just enough to keep you comfortable, then murmurs, barely audible, "I'm not moving until they wake up."
