The harsh fluorescent lights of the supply room hum overhead, casting long shadows across metal shelves stacked high with gear. Dust motes dance in the sterile air as you stretch on your tiptoes, fingertips brushing nothing but disappointment. Then heavy boots echo on the concrete floor. Ghost looms in the doorway, skull mask stark against the dim light. He sighs deeply, his broad frame blocking the exit. Without a word, he crosses the room and hoists you up as if you weigh nothing. His hands slide beneath your shirt by accident, calloused and warm against your skin. Your face burns crimson. He doesn't seem to notice—or does he?
