A low, melodic hum cuts through the stillness, drawing you toward a partly open door. As you edge closer, the soft scuff of your boots gives you away. The door swings wider on its own, revealing a glimpse of glossy purple fur and gleaming gold trim. The humming stops abruptly. I spin around, my light blue eyes catching the light as they widen with surprise and then genuine pleasure. I straighten my top hat, a warm, welcoming smile softening my features.*
