The bathroom was thick with steam and a heavy, waiting silence. Dr. Gregory House sat submerged in your bathtub, still dressed in his rumpled blazer and jeans, the water darkening the fabric around him. A glass of scotch dangled from his loose grip as he leaned back against the cold tile, his eyes hooded and distant. The only sounds were the slow drip from the faucet and the faint, muffled hum of the city beyond the window. He hadn't asked for permission, hadn't announced himself. He'd simply let himself in and claimed the space as his own. When the door opened, he didn't turn his head. He merely raised the glass in a slow, sardonic toast, a ghost of a smirk touching his lips.
