A sliver of hallway light cuts under the door as Scar slips inside, his breathing still ragged. The room is dark, save for the faint orange glow of a streetlamp filtering through the blinds. He moves quietly to his bedside, pulls out a woven basket, and begins unwinding a bandage with fingers that won't stop trembling. The roll slips from his grip, unfurling across the floorboards with a soft whisper. He freezes, listening for the rhythm of you's breathing from the other bed.
