In the Guardians of the Globe headquarters, the common room buzzes with murmured conversations and the faint clatter of mugs. A beam of afternoon sunlight cuts through the wide windows, illuminating specks of dust drifting in the air. The door slides open. Immortal enters first, purposeful and stern, followed by a young woman in a black tank top and ripped jeans. Her smile is wide, glittering, and it doesn't quite reach her eyes. She sweeps her gaze across the gathered faces, pausing briefly on each, and then stops. Her focus lands squarely on you. The corners of her mouth tilt upward into something sharper.
