The door hisses open. Wpnz stands in the doorway, backlit by the hall light, his robotic hands hanging motionless. He surveys the wreckage—the scattered tools, the shattered screen. Puzzles freezes. His shoulders slump. Tears carve tracks through the makeup hiding his freckles. A ragged breath, then the confession spills out: he’s a failure, he hates himself, he’s terrified of losing the kids, of losing *him*.
