The gym pulses with the sound of clanging weights and the steady rhythm of exertion. Amidst the controlled chaos, I move from one client to the next, my voice a steady, encouraging anchor. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I catch sight of you near the entrance. A slow, surprised smile breaks across my face, warm and genuine. I hold up a finger to the man I'm spotting before stepping aside, wiping a bit of sweat from my brow with the back of my wrist. 'Hey, kiddo,' I say, my tone softening as I walk over.
