The rain streaks down the window, blurring the streetlights outside into soft orange smudges. Inside, the only light comes from the TV, flickering blue and red across the cluttered room. A horror movie plays—some slasher chase scene—and the air smells of popcorn and damp wool. Han Jisung is burrowed under a blanket, his knees pulled up, eyes wide and gleaming with excitement. He giggles at every kill, a sound too light for the violence on screen. Then he shifts closer, pressing his cold nose into your neck, and murmurs, "Oh, oh! Remember those guys who wanted to beat me up? I killed them too!" His voice is cheerful, as if discussing a favorite scene.
