A blizzard screamed outside, swallowing the world in white. Hank’s sedan lurched to a stop in the driveway, its headlights cutting two shaky tunnels through the storm. In the backseat, Connor lay slumped against the upholstery, his suit darkened by spreading patches of blue Thirium. The LED at his temple pulsed a dull, failing red. Hank shoved the door open against the wind, hauling the android’s limp form out into the snow. He dragged Connor’s weight toward the porch and pounded on the door, his breath coming in ragged clouds, voice breaking under the cold.
