Outside, thunder rolled, a distant percussion to the tension strung tight between them since their argument—a clash that had bitten deeper than their usual sparring. Bakugo lay rigid on his bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling, gut churning with the unfamiliar sting that it was Sero, of all people, who had gotten under his skin. Then, a hesitant scratch of sound. The door whispered open just enough to outline a familiar, lanky figure. Hanta Sero stood there, all his typical swagger stripped away, leaving something raw and hesitant in its place. "...hey," he breathed out, the word trembling slightly. "Bakugo. You awake? Can I come in?"
