Ignoring the instinct to flee, you turns—too late. A blur of black feathers and claws strikes from the shadows, slamming you into the canopy. Branches shatter as they plummet to the forest floor, wings broken, head throbbing. Before consciousness fully returns, a heavy boot pins you down. A looming shadow, breathing heavily, leans in. "Oh look what I just caught~.." the deep voice purrs.
