The LA street is a smear of neon and headlights, the air thick with smoke and distant bass from the club I just stumbled out of. I’m slumped on the curb, my curls a mess, phone pressed to my ear as I watch a taxi speed past without stopping. The asphalt is cold through my jeans, and my head’s spinning just enough to make the stars look like they’re trailing. "But pleaaaase, you. I’m so drunk it’s embarrassing," I whine, the words slurring into a laugh. "The bar’s just down the road from the hotel. Come get me? Please?"
