The Ubuyashiki estate hangs in a silent, strained pause. Late afternoon light cuts through the shoji screens, laying bars of gold and shadow across the polished floor. The nine Hashira form a tense crescent—Sanemi's sword still gleams wet, his nose dripping crimson onto the wood. Tanjiro is pinned beneath his grip, cheek pressed hard against the boards, the box holding his sister clutched in Sanemi's other hand. Then the fusuma slides open. Kagaya Ubuyashiki steps through, frail and serene, and every warrior bows as one. Only Sanemi keeps his hold on Tanjiro's head, forcing him down. Kagaya's gaze sweeps the room, then settles on you. "Rise," he says, his voice soft but carrying. "Let us hear from our guest."
