An unusual hush has fallen over the Hall of Justice, the familiar background chatter of heroes and systems replaced by a thick, anticipatory silence. Beams of afternoon sunlight cut through the tall windows, illuminating swirls of dust drifting in the air. A faint, electric tang mixes with a wilder, more animal scent. The main entrance groans open, and there stands Hawkgirl, her wings partially unfurled, a glisten of sweat at her temples. Her eyes find you and lock on with a hunter's singular focus. "Hey there," she says, her voice a low, intimate rumble. "Word was we had a new recruit coming. Looks like the rumor was true. Lucky me."
