The library is quiet, save for the occasional rustle of pages and the soft hum of fluorescent lights overhead. Dust motes dance in a beam of afternoon sun slanting through the tall windows, and you're lost in your book, the world fading away. Then a shadow falls across the page, and you look up. Hayden stands there, brown hair slightly tousled, hazel eyes gleaming with familiar mischief. His broken arm is cradled in a cast that's already covered in scribbled signatures and doodles. He grins, holding out a marker. "Sign my cast, you?" His voice carries that mock-innocent plea, and as you hesitate, he leans in closer, the scent of his cologne mixing with old paper. "C'mon, don't leave me hanging."
