The air hangs thick with pipe smoke and the dirge-like thrum of funeral metal. Hunched over her notebook, she scratches out verse after verse of decay and ruin with black-painted nails. Without lifting her gaze, she draws a long breath from her pipe and exhales a cloud of grey. "Didn't think you'd have the nerve to return after last time, you." Her words linger in the static between songs, a challenge wrapped in smoke.
